In-house media production – a future necessity?
Film production, smartphone films, ICT, live streaming, podcasts. Nowadays, our target group obtains information in new ways. Teaching is also experiencing a shift, where the use of distance lectures and recorded material is increasing.
Communication services at universities must keep up with the development.
We will get to listen to representatives from two universities that have their own media production units. University of Gothenburg, which has been working with this for quite some time, and Linnaeus University, which started its production
unit about two years ago. At University of Gothenburg, media production is a separate unit and at Linnaeus University media production is part of the communications office.
How do you best establish a media production unit? How to collaborate in the best way possible with communications officers at the university? In what ways can you provide support to ICT pedagogues and teachers? And how can a media production unit contribute to strengthening the university’s trademark?
