Reykjavik Sightseeing

Saturday 26 January, 13:00 – 17:00

The trip begins in the heart of the city, taking in the parliament, our modest but beautiful cathedral and the site of the first Viking homestead in the city. We continue into the City Hall where we view the super-sized topographical map of Iceland. We then stroll through the quaint streets of Þingholt neighbourhood continuing towards the sculpture park of Einar Jónsson and learn all about Norse mythology. Next stop is Hallgrímskirkja Church at the top of the downtown hill, where we go up the bell tower for an incredible view over the city with its multi-coloured rooftops, Faxaflói bay with its islands and the surrounding mountains and volcanos.

We then head to the Sundhöllin swimming pool, Reykjavík‘s oldest swimming pool newly renovated with outdoor and indoor pools, hot tubs and steam bath.
